Chamisa is an artist, illustrator, and designer living in sunny Arizona. A native of the southwest, she has moved over 30 times, traveled to over 30 countries, and lived abroad in both Russia and Germany. A life of constant exploration, change, and new discoveries influences Chamisa both personally and professionally. She enjoys experiencing new lands and cultures both in person and through story - whether it be memoir or fiction, spoken or written. These stories and events shape Chamisa's art and life.

Throughout the years Chamisa has experimented with art in many forms: theater, piano, graphic design, photography, and even woodworking. She first began arranging elements on a screen using Adobe Pagemaker in the 90s, long before she had ever heard of repeating patterns or surface design.

After dabbling in film and fine art, she earned her degree in Art History from the University of Central Florida. In her subsequent corporate jobs and during the four years Chamisa spent as an expat in Germany, she found opportunities to be creative wherever she went. It wasn't until 2017 that she started her company, Zirkus Design, and pursued art and illustration as a career.

At Zirkus Design, Chamisa focuses on surface design, lettering, and illustration. her favorite mediums include pen and ink, graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, and gouache. She's inspired by her travels, vintage illustrations, and outdoor adventures with her family.

When not drawing or designing, Chamisa enjoys hiking, cycling, baking, and board games with her husband and three sons.
